The joy was absolutely palpable! On the fifth night of Chanukah this year came together to celebrate the holiday of light. It’s our intention to “light up the lives of kids” so what better way than to light a gigantic Chanukah menorah? Behind the scenes we are taking care of every detail that it takes for a big project like building a children’s museum to succeed. High on the list is working with law firms to ensure we are completely compliant with non-profit laws in two countries, wrapping up the contract with our design firm, fundraising, and so much more. Laya Saul Jackson’s son, Jeremiah, had the great idea to have a Chanukah candle lighting on the site where we will build. What a great way to come together. Attending were some of the wonderful people from the Children’s Museum of the Galilee team, Mayor Benny Benmuvhar and staff of Mevo’ot Hahermon, the municipality involved with getting us the land, and other local leaders. Some of our longtime friends joined us, including Dr. Hagay Amir, CEO of the Loewenstein Rehabilitation Hospital, and Lior Salomon, Jewish Agency for Israel representing the Tzahar-Palm Beach Partnership. Also joining were other true believers, supporters, and even some new faces. Everyone enjoyed the stories, inspiration, jelly doughnuts, and glow sticks. We were even graced with a flyover of a flock of cranes as they were heading to the Hula Valley for the winter. We are steadily moving forward laying a foundation of joy and care for children! Thank you for being a part of this glorious project. Photo credits to Efrat Moskowitz!
