Our hearts are burdened in this time of uncertainty and conflict in Israel. As we grapple with the brutal attacks on innocent families and communities, it becomes increasingly important to find moments of hope and resilience amid the chaos. The approaching holidays of Chanukah and Thanksgiving are a poignant reminder that even in the darkest times, there is a light that can guide us forward.
A month and a half since the war began, the Children's Museum of the Galilee remains a steadfast symbol of hope and optimism. The war has not deterred our commitment to the project; if anything, it has strengthened our resolve to create a future filled with beauty, growth, and joy.
Our Executive Director, Eli Moskovitz is currently serving in the Israel Defense Forces reserves. He reports that, despite the challenges, he is seeing a strong spirit of resolve both among the soldiers and the general population. "It’s as though the entire country is drafted and is part of the army. Am Yisrael Chai!". In these trying times, the need for our museum has become more compelling than ever.

Why the Children's Museum of the Galilee Matters Now:
1. Strategic Location in the North:
Situated in the vulnerable north, the Children's Museum of the Galilee is crucial in a region susceptible to ongoing attacks. The absence of comparable institutions in the area emphasizes the significance of this project as it seeks to fill a void in providing informal experiential education in the entire Galilee/Golan.

2. Healing Through Play:
War has a heartbreaking impact on children. This museum will offer creative and supportive experiences designed to alleviate the burden of trauma. The museum will serve as a play-based, fun, educational, and interactive space for the 415,000 children in our local region alone.

 3. Educational Innovation:
Developed in collaboration with renowned Developmental Psychologist Dr. Yael Barak Levy, the museum's approach to education is multi-dimensional, interactive, and engaging. By focusing on exploration and discovery, the experiences offered will help children build communication skills and promote emotional connections.

4. Economic Contribution and Rebuilding:
Beyond its educational impact, the Children's Museum of the Galilee holds the promise of economic contribution to the region. Through job creation, tourism, and various other avenues, the museum is poised to play a vital role in rebuilding northern Israel once the war concludes.

As we navigate through these challenging times, we hope to be in the post-war phase sooner rather than later. The Children's Museum of the Galilee stands ready to be part of the recovery and healing process, offering a space for rebuilding and nurturing the resilience ingrained in our community.
